Citizens’ Oversight Committee (COC) forming
In accordance with Measure W, SamTrans is establishing an Independent Citizens’ Oversight Committee. There are 15 positions that need to be filled. Applicants can apply for more than one position. The COC will receive findings of an independent audit, hold a public hearing, and issue a report annually on how Measure W funding is being spent and whether those expenditures are consistent with the requirements of the law.
The application period is now open and will close on October 30, 2020. More information about the COC as well as the application is available at www.samtrans.com/coc.
The 2020 Census is officially over! We should be proud to learn that San Mateo County remained the highest self-responding county in the entire state of California, with a rate of 78.5% That number may increase a bit as paper surveys (postmarked no later than Oct. 15th) are received (up to Oct 22nd). Many members of the South San Mateo County League of Women Voters volunteered as Census Champions during the past year. Thank you to everyone who participated!
